Annual Meeting - February 6th, 2010

The Annual Meeting will be on Sat. Feb 6, 2010 at "It's a Dog's World" in Sumner. This will feature a seminar on canine conditioning from 12:30-2:00, then the meeting from 2:30-4:00.

The seminar cost is $40 if you attend with a dog, $20 if you audit without your dog. The NCS will cover half the fee for renewed club members. ($20 with a dog, $10 to audit) This is a great seminar for all dogs and will touch on exercise, stretching, avoiding injury and rehab. Checks can be made payable to It's a Dog's World. There is no cost to attend the meeting starting at 2:30. Please contact the Event Chair to register for the seminar.

Seattle Kennel Club- Meet The Breeds Booth - March 13th and 14th, 2010

At the Qwest Field Events Center during the Seattle Kennel Club Show. Club members are needed to staff 2 hour shifts. Well behaved Newfs are invited to join and will be loved by hundreds from oldsters to toddlers, so bring your drool towels. Contact the Event Chair if you are interested in volunteering to help out.

Junior Water Dog Seminar - May 9th, 2010 (NEW DATE, time and location--no change)

Please join us for a land work seminar in preparation for the 2010 water training season. This seminar is designed for those dogs who will be working at the junior level of water work. Only Newfoundland dogs can attend this seminar.

Dog Wash and Grooming Seminar - June 27th, 2010

Event chairs: Education Committee


Location: Melody and Richard’s Place

Time: 11:00am (arrive)

Details: This is for the novice groomer (I don’t know anything), to the person who grooms their own dog but needs some additional expert advice. Come wash your dog, learn how to dry, comb, and trim. We will have washing, drying, and trimming stations set up. If you wish you can wash your dog at home and come to dry and trim or wash and dry your dog at home and trim at the grooming seminar. There will be 3 groomer teachers to head up the instruction. This is a Newfoundland dog specific event, so please do not bring non-Newfoundland dogs. You may attend without your dog. RSVP is not required for attendance, but if you plan or think you will be attending, if you can let the Education Committee know for the BBQ headcount, that would be much appreciated.

This year the club is adding a Pumpkin Pull to our fundraising events. The Pumpkin Pull will take place at Hunter's Pumpkin Patch. Join us for some Halloween fun. Newfs that have draft experience are needed to cart customer's pumpkins and children (draft cart rides). Come support the Newfs and a worthy cause. Please contact the event chair if you are able to cart for this event and about ambassador dogs needed before bringing a non-carting Newf to the event.
